East Bethel man dies while riding ATV on Coon Lake

A 21-year-old East Bethel man died after going through an open stretch of water on Coon Lake while riding his all terrain vehicle (ATV).

Justin G. Shermer, 22559 Bataan St., was found in the open stretch of water near the southwestern border of East Bethel and Ham Lake on Monday, Dec. 30, around 12:30 p.m.

According to Anoka County Sheriff's Office Capt. Robert Aldrich, investigators believe the man had gone riding on Sunday night.
