Edward Coleman
Funeral service for Judge Edward E. Coleman, 92, Anoka, took place Dec. 28 at St. Stephen's Catholic Church, Anoka. Rev. Mike VanSloun officiated.
Coleman died at his home Dec. 21. He was born Sept. 9, 1914 in Anoka to John P. and Margaret M. (Egan) Coleman. He was a veteran of World War II serving in the U.S. Army. He was an attorney in Anoka, served as the Anoka City Attorney and as an Anoka County District Court judge.
He is survived by his children, Margaret (Dr. Stephen) Gadient of St. Paul, John Coleman of California, Mary (Thomas) Dybsky of North Oaks, Patrick (Nancy) Coleman of Anoka, Ann (Mark) Campbell of Plymouth, Thomas (Jane) Coleman of St. Paul; 17 grandchildren; and dear friend, Mary Mitchell of Florida.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Alice; parents, John and Margaret Coleman; and infant brother, John.
Pallbearers were Michael and Edward Gadient, Stephen and Alexander Dybsky, Patrick, Michael, John, Daniel and Joseph Coleman and Andrew Campbell.
Interment was at St. Mary's Cemetery, Minneapolis. Arrangements were by Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home, Anoka.
Carol Cox
Funeral service for Carol L. Cox, 87, Anoka, took place Dec. 8 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Oak Grove. Rev. David Blum officiated.
Cox died Dec. 6 in Coon Rapids. She was born Dec. 25, 1918 in Cedar to Samuel and Nevada Orr.
She is survived by her children, Sharon (Curtis) Johnson, Kathleen Cox, James Cox, Richard (Mary Ellen) Cox, William John Cox; 15 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Forrest, Howard and Lyman Orr, Everett Orr; and sister, Helen Smith.
Pallbearers were Jeremiyah, Douglas and Mike Johnson, Brennan, Joe and Jake Cox and Brooks Jowett. Honorary pallbearer was Curtis Johnson.
Interment was at St. Patrick's Cemetery, Oak Grove. Arrangements were by Gearhart Funeral Home, Coon Rapids.
Arnold Flatness
Funeral service for Arnold P. Flatness, 92, Coon Lake, took place Dec. 26 at Linwood Covenant Church.
Flatness died Dec. 19. He was a World War II veteran, sheet metal worker at Unisys and longtime operator of Norquist Campground in Coon Lake.
He is survived by many nieces, nephews and extended family.Ý
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mabel; three brothers; and five sisters.
Interment was at Victor Hill Cemetery, Linwood. Arrangements were by Mattson Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Forest Lake.
Michael Kelley
Funeral service for Michael "Moose" Kelley, 18, Blaine, took place Dec. 19 at Epiphany Catholic Church, Coon Rapids. Rev. Hennen officiated.
Kelley died Dec. 14. He was born Aug. 13, 1988 in Coon Rapids to Scott Kelley and Nancy Klaers and was a student.
He is survived by his father, Scott; brother, Scotty; grandparents, Dolores and Bruce Kelley Jr. and Lu and Mike Klaers; aunts, Dolores Ann, Lorraine (Mike), Linda, Annie (Don); uncles, Bill, Steve (Mary); many cousins and friends; and special friends, Bev, Samantha, Allison and Jake.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Nancy.
Pallbearers were Robie Greinke, Brandon Kelley, Tyler Elliott, Ben Dalske, Eric Anderson, Andy Kraabel and Steve Swanson.
Interment was at Morningside Memorial Gardens, Coon Rapids. Arrangements were by Gearhart Funeral Home, Coon Rapids. Memorials preferred In Moose Kelley's name to: First Advantage Bank, Coon Rapids.
Grace Tuott
Funeral service for Grace Tuott, 80, East Bethel, took place Dec. 19 at Way of the Lord Church, Blaine. Revs. Don Pfotenhauer and Chuck Porta officiated.
Tuott died Dec. 14. She was born Feb. 10, 1926 in Minneapolis to William and Elanore and was a retired registered nurse.
She is survived by her husband, Richard; children, Jerome (Debra), Arthur (Sharon), Ellen (Clarence) Randle and Dale (Debra); 20 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and other family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her grandson, Benjamin Randle.
Pallbearers were Jerome, Arthur and Dale Tuott, Clarence and Ellen Randle and Joseph Stauffer.
Interment was at Oak Grove Cemetery. Arrangements were by Gearhart Funeral Home, Coon Rapids.
Eva Williams
Funeral service for Eva Gertrude Williams, 84, Anoka, took place Dec. 27 at United Methodist Church of Anoka. Rev. Leigh Brown officiated.
Williams died Dec. 21 at Unity Hospital. She was born March 2, 1922 in Anoka to William and Dorothy Faye (Mentor) Gilligan. She was a retired special education teacher in Anoka-Hennepin School District 11.
She is survived by her children, Tom (Karen), Kathy (Don) Cater, Jon (Debbie) and Nancy Thompson; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; sister, Doris (Joe) Thorson; and many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold.
Pallbearers were Steve, Scott and Chris Cater, Wendy, Eric and Kristi Williams and Sarah Klocker.
Interment was at Sunset Memorial Park, Minneapolis. Arrangements were by Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home, Anoka.
